About George Chawawa

George Chawawa, (or “GDPR George” as he would like to be known), has worked in the data protection landscape since 2017, a year before UK GDPR was enacted into UK law by the Data Protection Act 2018. During that time, he worked with a Consultant Barrister at Law in implementing this “Regulation” into his organisation. Since then, he has worked for British, French and American Companies both at national and international level. His business operations responsibilities have spanned from the UK, Europe, United Emirates to Dubai.

More About Us

George studied Law at the Universities of London and Aberystwyth on Wales before proceeding to the prestigious Inns of Court School of Law, in London. He went on to study at the University of East Anglia and then, recently, at the University of Northumbria, where he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Data Protection Law and Information Governance.

His Data Protection career includes executing huge GDPR Projects, handling the challenging and “contested” Subject Access Requests, apart from implementing all requirements of the UKGDPR into business operations. George has experience of advising Board of Directors, Directors, Executive Heads of Departments as well as general members staff on any Data Protection issues.

In addition, George has aways worked closely with Case Officers at the Information Commissioners Office, (the ICO), since the inception of his career in UKGDPR.

George also has Courtroom experience in which he represented his organisation in the Small Claims Courts throughout the UK, appearing before District Judges.

George has also assisted various companies facing investigation by Regulatory Bodies on allegations of mishandling individuals’ personal data. He runs Webinars on Data Protection and writes articles for an international newspaper. He also ran Data Protection training events during the West Midlands Business Festival in 2025.
